Days 7-14! - Dev Update


Hey everyone!! 

Happy end of week 2; I think moving to weekly devlogs was the move since I feel a lot better about how much I'm gonna be able to show for this log.

I've, for the most part, figured out where I'm going to cut the demo off for the end of Nanoreno. Hopefully it'll be enough content to show off the game while also giving me ample time to work on things after the sprint is done.

I'm pretty happy I decided to go with grayscale + spot color cause I think it looks fucking sick. My artist heart sings U_U.

Here's a summary of what I got done since my last update :

  • Scripting :
    • +~2,000 words (current script total = 6,363 words)
  • Art : 
    • Implemented all the placeholder backgrounds for the current script length.
    • Drew & implemented 2 more character placeholders
    • More Sketching
  • Renpy :
    • Most of the script is implemented & working properly currently.
    • Started looking for fonts to replace the default ones
    • Added a new UI & fixed all the color schemes to the ones I picked out for the game.
    • Changed the text to slow speed
    • Added typing to the text as it comes out
  • Audio : For music/audio, I'm thinking of making it similar to BOTW where there's mostly environment sounds?
  • Other : I'm debating making either a novel or TTRPG version of this once everything is said & done. TTRPGs are the heart & soul of my writing, so I think it'd be fun to do a GM-able version. Nanoreno started around the 3 year mark of me taking on D&D/GMing as a hobby & it's changed my life pretty drastically.
