(009) Day System - How to Find your Killer

Mona Mourn is an investigation game that takes place over 3 days and 4 nights. Each day itself is divided into 2 sections, sometimes 3 if the right conditions are met.

Over the course of the game, you’ll gain access to different avenues where you can learn about the murders as well as the people around you. Due to the low amount of resources, you won’t be able to look into every single location, person, or piece of information. You’ll also have to take into account people’s schedules, because life goes on, even in times of death.

Dead ends are aplenty as the town changes around you in a high tension case that could put many lives at risk.

It’ll really be up to the player to make the best with the time they have.

I’m currently working on a section that has the player go up a cliff. It’s a long hike that takes up a lot of time, but your theory is that you’ll find something that will help you make leeway in the latest body found.

The department is hoping that this latest body is not part of the series of murder, and you’re tasked with finding her identity and confirming whether or not she is.

You can go to the cliff during most of the sections of the investigation, and in some cases have Douglas go with you. You’ll find different pieces of evidence depending on how much the rain has passed, and what information as already been collected. Those pieces of information will lend to different conclusions about the body, as well as new avenues to check out.

Ultimately, I’m making this really complicated for my first game, but alas, all my projects end up becoming extremely long and moreso about sustaining myself than actual completion speed.

I’m still enjoying myself though, lmaoo. I think it’d be fun to have everything finished by the time the year anniversary of the demo comes out.

Anyways, happy playing!!
