Devlog 003 - Meeting Mona

Happy Thursday!

I’m getting so close to finishing up the morgue, but I spent this week ironing out the leads/clues that would lead you to the suspects of each body. I also outlined a bunch of the section where you can meet Mona for the first time in-game.

Sometimes it’s easier to figure out later sections & come back to the morgue because I always get additional ideas that would work great in earlier spots lol.

I’ve been splitting my time between this & another project I’m trying to wrap up revisions on (a TTRPG setting, so stay tuned for that!)

It seems The Lucky Clover is right across the street from the motel that the sheriff set you up in. It’d be a waste to not go check things out.

Mona’s personality feels like a mask when you’re talking to her. She’s hiding something, but it’s difficult to get any information. During the demo, you merely get a sense of just how much she’s accomplished in her few years in Silverport. When the detective first meets her later on, he realizes that she isn’t what he was expecting. She watches him with a calculating eye, knowing that they’re merely both playing their intended roles.

She runs the most popular feeding clinic in Silverport : The Lucky clover. It’s been open for a short 10 years, but it seems like a majority of the community relies on the place for their weekly meals.

Mona is proud of the work she’s done & despite coming from the city, feels right at home.

Depending on your actions, you could be meeting her at night on your first day in Silverport, or you could meet her later on with more information to use against her. Regardless, it doesn’t really seem like she wants to talk about the murder that happened right outside her bar…

I also have some new exploration art this week for one of the characters in the full version! No spoilers though on who he is in the story :3c

I post devlogs every thursday to update & share bits of the writing, so follow for more & remember to play the demo!!

I’m always looking for feedback on my work, so if something stands out to you, I’d be happy to hear it <3
